Natalie/Danny - SAFE
Corynne/Anthony - SAFE
Jayme Rae/Daniel - SAFE
Tara Jean/Everett - SAFE
Melanie B./Taylor - B3
Amy/Vincent - B3
Jenna Lynn/Nicolas - SAFE
Melanie M./Cody - SAFE
Kim/Emanuel - SAFE
Tatiana/Austin - B3

Melanie B. - Cute, but kind of spastic. The fringe on her outfit is commanding more attention.
Amy - Little stumble near the beginning, but really nice.
Tatiana - Oh dear, purple vinyl stretch pants. Hrmmm, not sure I liked that. Mom did, though.

Taylor - Nice quality of movement, not a lot of substance. He's all limbs.
Vincent - Liked this a lot, very entertaining. He has awesome musicality.
Austin - mm, he's trying to channel Brandon from S5..

Based on the solos, Mom and I both think Taylor and Melanie B. are gone. Let's see.

Jean Marc says it was not unanimous. Tatiana is going home. Tatiana broke right down, as well as some of the other female dancers. She can't even look at the camera. Wow.

Now the guys. Taylor is gone. He's stunned, and not sure what to do. Leah is breaking down. He seems okay, though, and manages to give a little speech.

Surprised at the bottom 3 couples? About who was sent home? Any favourites yet?

Watching tonight's show with my mother, brother (Sean) and his girlfriend (Larissa). Here we go!

Leah has on a white bubble dress. Very 60s but I hate bubble dresses :/ Blake came out in a period ribbon tie and high collared shirt '_' awesome. Way classier than the way too low cut wife beater showing off the strange chain tattoo around his neck..

Tara Jean/Everett - Jive - Lust For Life (Iggy Pop) - 1-877-977-4601
First up is Tara Jean who is from Lethbridge. She is paired with Everett (the tapper) and they're doing a jive with Melissa Williams. Tara Jean is grossed out by how much Everett sweats. Ooh, bumsmack. Hmmm, I'm not feeling this. It flowed together and they got all the steps, but there wasn't much of a spark. Hmm. Judges seem to like it. Probably giving them slack for being the first number. Wow, Jean Marc called them a threat to everyone else. Really? Hmmm..

Amy/Vincent - Samba - Appropriate Latin drum piece (didn't catch the title/artist) - 1-877-977-4602
Amy is from Calgary and this is the second time she's bringing up her mom a lot. She's the one I really liked from the green mile episode. Vincent talks very quickly. They're doing a samba with Tony Meredith and Melanie Lapatin from the US version. Even though Vincent is ballroom but is worried about lifts. Oh dear, Amy cut his arm open while doing lifts, no wonder. Ooops, she missed a step onto his leg. Still, good energy, I'm liking this one. My brother and co. weren't as impressed as me. Pretty much same sentiments as me from the judges. Jean Marc says Amy has tabasco toes :P

Bunch of last years contestants are in the audience, a bunch are in the upcoming film "Turn The Beat Around" choreographed by Tre.
Now we find out what Nico's been up to. Wow, he's doing a bunch of films and ballet (including the Nutcracker with Allie! I loved Allie!) Nico comes out for a visit, but won't tell us what's up next.

Melissa M./Cody - Contemporary - Taking Chances (Celine Dion) - 1-877-977-4603
Melissa's parents wanted her to go to medical school, but she decided to dance instead. Cody's nickname is babyface. No kidding. They're both little. And they're with Stacey! Yay! And Nico. Ooh. Melissa is very very smiley through all of this. Still, really nice piece from Stacey, we all really liked it. Blake gives them a standing O. Tre thinks Cody will be in the final two. Big words so early. Jean Marc puts them on his VID list (very insane dancer... he's trying to be Mary Murphey :P)

Kim/Emanuel - Hip-hop - Here Comes The Hammer (MC Hammer) - 1-877-977-4604
Kim is a hip-hopper, Emanuel went to the National Ballet school when he was younger, and of course was a figure skating champion. They have hip-hop with choreographer Sho-Tyme. The music in itself gives this a rather 90s feel. I'm liking it, though. The pinstripe suits are an interesting touch. My family thinks Emanuel had trouble keeping up, I thought he did not half bad for being very classically trained. Luther says it was old-school (ha! yes!) and liked it. Blake thought it died part way through and got a boo. Tre appreciates their teamwork. Jean Marc loved it. Larissa thinks there's a little bit of wine in his Aquafina glass :D

Corynne/Anthony - Viennese Waltz - The Time Of My Life (David Cook) - 1-877-977-4605
Corynne is from Edmonton! She also plays ringette. Anthony is from Calgary. Oooooh, rivals :P His mom is adorable. They're doing Viennese Waltz with Pierre Mireille. He says they will be spinning and turning a lot. Ooh, nice arabesque-y flippy move from Corynne. But yes, that was a lot of spinning. There wasn't a lot of connection between one another. Judges are lukewarm.. except Jean Marc. Wow, he wants everyone to like him..

Natalie/Danny - Hip-hop - Didn't catch song/artist - 1-877-977-4606
Natalie is from Halifax and is the show's first krumper. Danny is a sporty guy. They're doing hip-hop with Sho-Tyme. They're very in sync, but it doesn't seem like it's super comlicated stuff. There isn't much interaction choreographed in here. Still, Natalie is indeed killing this. Still, performance/entertainment-wise, we liked the other hip-hop better. Luther loved this. Blake loved Natalie, Tre loved Danny. And Jean Marc loves THE WORLD!

Amy/Daniel - Afro-Jazz - Missed song/artist - 1-877-977-4607
Amy is one of the pair of twins that auditioned, her sister did not make it through Vegas. Daniel is originally from Haiti. He's dancing for his mommy :) Ooh, Afro-jazz with Sean Cheesman. Love his stuff. They're casting spells :P Hmm, a lot of this is at the back of the stage. Digging this. Ending was neat since the usual guy over-top of girl while hovering over the floor was switched around. Mutual love across the table. We are now just waiting for Jean Marc to gush and laugh at him.

Jenna Lynn/Nicolas - Disco - Waking up in Vegas (Katy Perry) 1-877-977-4608
Missed some of the intros as my brother needed to leave. They're doing Disco with Melissa Williams. They talk about making pictures, while it's still fast and furious. This music... doesn't work for a disco... In fact, the dancing is not disco, really. This seems like a sort of uptempo contemporary. Oh, the finger pointy disco move... Apparently that makes it disco. Nope, nope, did not care for this. Judges are being waaay too nice. I guess because it's not the dancer's fault they got saddled with that... Still, not deserving the praise it got.

Courtney Galiano from S4US is in the audience! Yay!

Tatiana/Austin - Capoeira - Seguru O Coco (Axe Capoeira) 1-877-977-4609
Tatiana is tired of being a backup dancer. Austin has a huge family and he is the oldest kid. Paul Becker is choreographing Capoeira (Brazillian fighting dance). Tatiana kicks Austin in the face in rehearsal. The transitions between moves are pretty much non-existant. Also, the shirt and tie on Austin for this style are really not working. Mom thought he was impressive, I just didn't feel any of the piece. I think I remember being left flat with a lot of Paul's stuff last year... The judges seem to be looking for some nice things to say. Gah, all this gushing.. I know we're supposed to be nicer people up here, but really. Dancers can't grow without constructive feedback, guys.

Melanie B./Taylor - Tango - Dammit, missed the song again - 1-877-977-4610
Melanie's dad is an award winning musician. Taylor only started dancing at 16. They're doing a tango (fusion of ballroom and Argentine) with Tony and Melanie. Mom notices that Taylor needs to quit sticking his tongue out. Uhm.. she peeled off his jacket and he is shirtless (while attractive, seemed unnecessary). Ohhhh, okay, he was nailed in the face and is bleeding from the mouth, I guess that's why he was pulling his face like that. I thought it was just okay, though. Blake agrees with me. Jean Marc gushes again. We've decided he's the male, French-Canadian Paula Abdul.

Tylenol is sponsoring a segment called "backstage relief". Mmmmkay :P This is useless filler! Whoo!

Loved: Melanie/Cody's Contemporary, Jayme Rae/Daniel's Afro-jazz
Bottom 3 Predictions: Jenna Lynn/Nicolas, Tatiana/Austin, maybe Tara Jean/Everett since they were first up..
Going Home: Jenna Lynn/Austin, but always hard to call the first elimination..

Did anyone else watch? What do you think?
The green mile episode aired on Sunday. I missed it as I was visiting family, so I am just getting to watch it now. First performance episode airs tonight, and I am visiting family again, but will hopefully get the chance to watch.

We're showing solos first, before they announce top 20. Everyone they're showing seems to be pretty good. So far, the first girl (Amy, contemporary) stands out the most.. Hip hop boys keep ripping their shirts off :/
Oooh, another really good contemp. dancer. These contemporary girls seem to bleed together, so I'm glad there are a couple of stand-outs.
We have a few of tappers, too! Yay!
I'm watching intently to see if the traditional Chinese dancer made it to this round. I just loved her, but am not sure she has enough in other styles. I just don't remember her getting cut (though I will admit, I may not have been playing close attention).. I'm thinking it's no, I think they would have featured her solo here...

And here we go! Apologies for names spelled incorrectly. For the cut dancers, I am going by best guess from what I hear :P

Tara-jean Popwich made it.
Jonathan Arsenault is cut.
Natalie Heath is cut.
Corynne Barron made it.
Sebastian Mersch is cut.

Oooh, cruel, they're not letting everyone go back to the "holding area" (seriously, I know auditions are called cattle-calls, but really, they're people, not livestock... at least at this point when they're down to 46..) to keep people guessing at how many spots are left.. Some people have to leave without getting hugs from their friends! So sad!

Nicolas Begin made it.
Danny Lawn made it.
Taylor James made it.

Rodrigo Besorto is cut.
Moses Leiko is cut.
Chloe Schultz is cut.
Vincent Desjardins made it.
Hasuri Getin is cut.
Jayme Rae Dailey made it. (oooh, bad fake-out, Tre... who writes their dialogue?)
Danielle Gardner is cut.

Commercial break. So far we're at 3 girls (2 contemp., 1 ballet) and 4 guys (1 breaker/hip-hop, 2 contemp., 1 ballroom). Gah, why does Leah talk over the bumpers? It's kind of irritating... which is not surprsing because she's kind of irritating >.>

Javard Blackwood is cut.
Cody Bonell made it.
Jenna Lynn Higgins made it.
Melanie Mah made it.

Yoni Fernier is cut.

Cut montage:
Christopher Panasuck
Charlene Heart
Justin Jackson
Nichole Bowser
Owen Selkirk
Brianne Waslenko

Everett Smith made it.
Jeff Mortinson is cut.
Amelia Randall is cut.
Natalie Lyons made it.

Commercials! We're at 6 boys and 6 girls.

Amy Gardner (one of the solos I loved..) made it.
Anthony Grafton made it.

Camille Norton is cut.

Cut montage:
Jason Noelle
Louise Heradsky
Aaaron Limpfeld
Nina Stresoula
Michael Chang

Juliet Irons is cut.
Tatiana Parker made it.
Daniel Dory made it.
Kim Gingras
(Vincent from last season's girlfriend) made it.

Last two girls: both ballroom. Melanie Buttarazzi and Yaneka Janeva...
Melanie made it, Yaneka is cut (booo, she was really cute! Neat style..)

More commercials. Previewing the last two boys walking in, but if my math is correct, we only have 8 boys so far... hrmmmm. :P

Emanuel Sandhu and Austin di Iulio, both contemporary.
Austin made it. Emanuel looks pissed.
Aaaaand Emanuel made it, too. Called that. Aww, he breaks down in tears. Hopefully that will endear him a little more to the audience, he was such a cocky bastard last year, but I really dig his dancing and it looks like the attitude has improved. We shall see.

TOP 20:
Tara-Jean (contemporary)
Everett (tap)
Jenna Lynn (jazz/lyrical)
Austin (contemporary)
Jayme Rae (contemporary/hip-hop)
Daniel (hip-hop)
Kim (hip-hop)
Danny (contemporary)
Tatiana (hip-hop)
Taylor (contemporary)
Melanie B. (ballroom)
Cody (hip-hop)
Natalie (krump)
Anthony (ballroom)
Amy (contemporary)
Emanual (contemporary/ice skater)
Melanie M. (contemporary)
Vincent (ballroom)
Corynne (ballet)
Nicolas (breaker/hip-hop)

Oooh... Metro put out a viewing guide today.. Okay, I may pick that up. Guess there was a point to watching this today, because I would have undoubtedly forgotten after two days.

So, a fairly even distribution of styles, with contemporary (naturally) dominating. Who do we like so far? Any obvious cannon-fodder? We will find out tonight!

That was a lot of list and not so much content, but tonight will be better :P
